My name is Ashton, the creator and author of this website. I am an Occupational Therapist, primarily working with the geriatric population in a skilled nursing facility. My passions are health and wellness, alternative solutions, spirituality, and all things metaphysical. I have a Bachelor's in Human Performance and Exercise Science, Master's in Occupational Therapy, and am a former Personal Trainer.
Astrology Sun Sign: Capricorn, Human Design Type: Generator, Enneagram Personality: Type 2-Wing 3... all combined with my life experiences leading me to write this blog with a higher purpose of serving myself and others with all of the knowledge and help I have come to learn along the way.
I grew up in the south - needless to say, raised on the standard American diet (SAD), antibiotics, asthma/allergies, Jesus, and poor emotional education like so many other people. I found a love for fitness and along with that came [questionable] nutrition.
My journey thus far has proved that exercise and eating “healthy” are not the end-all-be-all.
My first encounter with this notion began when I received an autoimmune diagnosis [Interstitial Cystitis]. Since the only [super expensive] medication helped only 35% of people diagnosed, I found myself in a health food store looking for alternatives. That day, the owner opened a door for me that I can never walk back through. She asked me if I knew that bladder issues typically stem from anger - and this was the case for me. In no time, my suppressed and resented experience manifested into dis-ease. My eyes were opened to the non-physical effects on our bodies. A whole psychosomatic world that I would never hear about from my doctor. Yes - nourishing our bodies with quality food and movement is important; but... there is so much more to it than that.
Using complementary healing modalities to bridge the gap between the physical and the metaphysical to understand how our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs manifest as health or dis-ease physically in our bodies.
I am happy to say that I have healed myself, and so can you!
The ultimate goal for myself, family, and close friends is to avoid ending up where I currently work... in a nursing home. I want to live joyously with a maximized quality of life and I want this for the people I love as well... including you! There is no doubt you were pre-destined to land on this site & read this very sentence. I hope you can feel the love I put into this Blog, and I hope it changes your life forever in the way it has changd mine.
